Message From The Director

The Director's Article of Appreciation

We are finally getting out of this hot hot weather! It's not too cold and it's not too hot. We are in our third year at the House of Hope! God has really blessed us since our early beginnings, but in the last two months I have noticed that our supplies are starting to run low more often than ever before, so please keep us in your prayers and in your heart in the near future. If you would be interested in donating some needed supplies for the shelter I can be reached at (434-549-1459) for information on what is needed at that time. Please know that we are very thankful for all that you have done and continue to do to bless the House of Hope homeless shelter. It is You that make it possible for our homeless guests to have a place to stay while trying to figure out what their next move in life will be. Thank you for your love and support! To God be the glory!

I would like to share a few testimonies of some of our latest guests. Hi my name is Sharon, since my time at the House of Hope I started on one of my dreams of going to a university. By enrolling at Averett University I am able to continue my education beyond Danville Community College. The ideal program is an online curriculum that if qualified one can receive money for room and board while attending Averett University. With the help of several grants and a small student loan I am able to better myself. Thank
the Lord for the House of Hope! One of the greatest benefits of staying at the HoH is knowing that the Lord is overseeing the facility. The daily devotions allows one to start their day off with the most powerful step of being drawn to the Lord! Knowing every night that I would be provided with healthy food from Danville Regional Medical Center was a great blessing and being able to sleep in a clean, comfortable bed, in a safe home is more than anyone can ask for!

My name is Christopher. I became homeless after my friend sold his home. That is when I came to the House of Hope. My experience as it is, is that it is a loving place! The staff treat you like one of their family. I have never been homeless before. It is a clean nice place. If and when I get back on my feet I plan to support the House of Hope, because places like this are one in a million. They take their time trying to help you. They show you respect with a mixture of love and with an upbeat attitude of happiness. I am sure it takes a lot to keep a place this size up and
running, please continue to support the HoH. I and I'm sure there are many others thank you for making this such a wonderful place!!

Thank God for the House of Hope! I would like to thank the people of Danville, its churches and anyone else who supports the mission of the House of Hope. It has enlightened my life that people care enough to provide a place to stay and food to us when we are in need. The House of Hope has helped me get back on the right track in life at a time in life when things were hard! God is at the House of Hope! Thank You!!!!-----Jeff
As the Director for the HoH, I want to thank you personally for all that you do! You can never really know how wonderful it is, that you keep our doors open so many others can be blessed in their time of need. We have had 119 guests visit us so far this year as of this writing and still we have the cold weather ahead of us. Again, Thank You for all your past and future support!

God's blessing on you and your family,

God Bless,
-Stephen Anderson, Director
