Message From The Director
The Director's Article of Appreciation
Cooler months are upon us! It is not so hot now, but
there is more concern about the homeless in our area
during the coming colder months. Let?s be sure to be
praying for our citizens who are having problems
staying warm. We at the House of Hope are going to be
doing all we can to bless as many people that need our
help as possible. You are the backbone of the HoH. It
is you that keeps the lights burning and the food and
supplies coming. Your past and future support is
always appreciated and very much needed to make the
House of Hope a blessing to this community! The words
? Thank You? could not began to express how we really
feel!
I want to share with you that Jeff, who gave a
testimony in our last news letter is now working for
Televista and has his own apartment!! These are the
kind of things that lets me know that we are making a
difference. Jeff was able to do this because he was
able to stay at the House of Hope while trying to find
work and become able to support himself. To God be the
glory!!!
I also, want to share with you that the House of Hope
is now working with ?Grace and Main? to reach more
people that truly need help! The director of Grace and
Main is Joshua Hearne. This group of people or
organization should I say truly have a big heart for
the hurting people of this community! I feel blessed
for the House of Hope to be able to partner with Grace
and Main to be able to reach out to even more people
than we have been able to bless in the past!
What we do is go out to help feed the homeless and low
income people around downtown Danville Area. We will
go down to the storefront areas of Main Street and
people will come by that have come to know us and ask
for a bag lunch and a bottle of water. There are two
parts to what is going on. We want to feed the hungry
and befriend them, to show love and concern for their
lives. To let them know we care about them and their
future. We also go down Jefferson st. to low income
apartment areas and people will come out to greet us
when they see us coming. This is a great partnership
that has been made between the House of Hope and Grace
and Main with one main common goal, to help people
that truly need help!
God is so good to us all! When we see all the hurt
going on in the world today, we can be proud to say we
are still the greatest nation in the world. I truly
believe that is because we are a nation with a heart
and a true desire to help others! To God be the
glory!!!
God's blessing on you and your family,
God Bless,
-Stephen Anderson, Director
HOH Presidents Message
We are again so very grateful to all those who
regularly contribute to the House of Hope. We have a
couple of supporters who make significant
contributions during the year and these have been
nothing short of miracles in two very lean months - a
very hearty ?Thank You!?
We also want to thank The Community Foundation of the
Dan River region for its continuing support. Their
recent grant to help with general expenses was most
timely and a great relief to our treasury. The House
of Hope is vital to our community and as the weather
begins to get colder it becomes a place of refuge to
even more of the homeless in Danville. We exist to
provide Hope to the ?least of these? in our community.
Thank you ALL for your continuing support.?
Dr. CAM McIntire,
President of the Board
