Message From The Director
The Director's Article of Appreciation
The weather is changing and it is a beautiful time
of the year. Thankfully these days are not too hot
and not too cold. We thank God for this great season
of the year!
The House of Hope is blessed to be in such a loving
community and it is through your love and support
that we are able to continue to bless those that are
down on their luck. Thank you for reaching out with
a helping hand to serve!
At this time we are in need of some basic supplies.
Would you be able to assist with meeting needs for
any of these items?
Shampoo, Deodorant, Shaving Cream, Trash Bags, Dish
Washing Detergent, Laundry Detergent, Pine-Sol, Air
Fresheners and Deodorant Soap.
Thank you so much for caring for the HOH; without
your support we would not be here. If you will just
give me a call (434.549.1459) and let me know when
you would like to drop by to bring needed supplies
or take a tour of your shelter, I would be very
grateful! Please continue to support your HOH with
much needed donations, love and prayers.

HOH President's Message
On Sunday, May 23 the House of Hope will celebrate
a significant milestone. We are deeply grateful for
everyone in our community who has given their time,
their prayers, their money, and their energy over
the past year to help us build this remarkable ministry
for our homeless eighbors. The staff, directors, and
guests at the shelter want to offer our appreciation
to everyone who has had a hand in helping us get to
where we are today.
Please take note of the details in the invitation
printed here. Come to House of Hope and tour the
facility, meet some of those who are working to
address issues of homelessness in our area, and
enjoy the opportunity to celebrate the good that
comes of a community joining together to serve.
I look forward to seeing you, sharing with you,
and celebrating with you on May 23!

Open House Event
Sunday, May 23

The board of directors, staff, and guests of the
House of Hope homeless shelter invite you to take
part in our open house event. As we celebrate the
first anniversary of our move to this location we
are inviting people from across our community to
come for a tour of the facility and to see the way
that we are serving our neighbors in need. Enjoy
appetizers donated by Outback Steakhouse and other
refreshments that have been prepared by members of
some of our partner churches!
Come and see how we are working to share hope with
hundreds of people who turn to the House of Hope
in their time of need!

Anyone who needs a tax receipt for contributions sent
directly to American National Bank for the House of
Hopes account should send a copy of the paid check to
the attention of Bob Wiles, Treasurer, Post Office Box
1197, Danville, VA 24543.
This documentation is required in order for the House
of Hope to send the needed receipt that is required by
IRS for charitable gifts of $250 or more.
Please know that we are deeply grateful not only for
the hundreds of donors who have lent their support in
2009, but also for the pledge commitments that have
already been received for 2010.
