Message From The Director
The Director's Article of Appreciation
It's finally starting to, or should I say trying to,
warm up! We have had some bone chilling temperatures
in this past month and things are beginning to look better.
I think about the economy of the world today and I
can't help but think how blessed the House of Hope is
to be located in such a loving community, where people
care about other people. When the world seems to take
and take and take, right here in Danville, Virginia,
people still care about people that are having a hard
time making ends meet. I, as the Director for the
House of Hope, feel so blessed to see God's handy
work! It's as if God continues to smile down on us
through the love of all our past, present and future
donors. It is only through your gifts of love and all
your prayers that we can continue to exist. May God
bless you and all your love ones is my prayer for all
of you!
We have the food that comes from Danville Regional to
bless us for our evening meals and we do cereals in
the mornings. When we are blessed with breakfast meats
and eggs we will serve them to our guests as well -
just thought I would mention that now we are able to
cook here at HOH. Please drop by when you get the
chance and see firsthand what the Lord is doing at
your House of Hope! Come by for a tour of the shelter
and a cup of coffee, you will be amazed at what you
will see!!
If your church or a group from your church would like
to come for a tour of the shelter, please give me a
call at 434-549-1459---you are welcome to bring youth
groups by to see what we are about and also if your
church would like to come by and sing, perform skits
and share some time with our guests that would be
great!
Blessings to all of you, please know that you are our
life line. Without your support of donations of love
we would not be able to continue to bless the homeless
that come through our doors! As of January the 1st. we
have had 27 guests. Again many thanks.

HOH President's Message
We are blessed to have such a loving community of
support for our homeless shelter. January and February
have been lean months. We are grateful for the
outpouring of love and financial gifts during the
Christmas season because if they had not been generous
we could be in trouble financially. Donations for the
past two months have only been about half of our
budgeted needs. So, we praise you and bless you as you
continue to support the House of Hope and we ask that
you be as generous as possible in the coming months.

Anyone who needs a tax receipt for contributions sent
directly to American National Bank for the House of
Hopes account should send a copy of the paid check to
the attention of Bob Wiles, Treasurer, Post Office Box
1197, Danville, VA 24543.
This documentation is required in order for the House
of Hope to send the needed receipt that is required by
IRS for charitable gifts of $250 or more.
Please know that we are deeply grateful not only for
the hundreds of donors who have lent their support in
2009, but also for the pledge commitments that have
already been received for 2010.
