Message From The Director
What a wonderful time at the House of Hope! God is
using so many people to bless the less fortunate in
our community. We here at HOH love and appreciate all
that you do for us.
Recently we had a lady 55 yrs. old who was down on her
luck and found herself in a place where we hope we
will never be, without a place to live. Your HOH was
here for her while she was regrouping and getting her
finances in order.
Now I am happy to say that she now has an apartment
and is getting a new lease on life. She is very
thankful that you, her fellow members of society, were
there for her. At this time we have a super nice lady
at the shelter. She is 68 yrs. old and waiting on her
checks so she can get a place on her own. There is a
smile on her face that has not been there in awhile.
We have a total of 8 guests at the shelter today.
Since the middle of January we have had nearly 70
guests stay at the House of Hope. That's a place for
them to find shelter, good food, make new friends and
be treated with kindness and respect.
God is blessing us so much. We are making a difference in people's lives thanks to all your past, present, and future support. We again want to thank you and ask you to keep us all in your prayers.

House of Hope Continues to Raise Awareness and Funds
As the ministry of the House of Hope continues to grow
we are encouraged to see the level of interest in our
work rising. We are fortunate to be the beneficiaries
of a wide range of support from every corner of our
community. As the summer months progress we are
looking forward to exciting events on the horizon that
will not only raise awareness of our ministry but also
enable people to share gifts that sustain our
operations.
Make plans now to take part in a special luncheon that
will be held on Saturday, August 22 at Outback
Steakhouse from noon until 2:00 p.m. Members of the
House of Hope board of directors will be waiting
tables (along with Outback staff!) and a delicious
lunch will be served for the cost of $25 per ticket.
The proceeds from the event will go to support our
ministry of serving some of our community's most
at-risk residents. Watch for more details soon!
Likewise, if there are civic groups, church
organizations, or even a group of interested neighbors
who would like to learn more about the House of Hope
and its ministry in the city, please contact me at
793.8331 or s.cook@fbcdanville.com to make me aware of
that. Members of our board are happy to tell the story
of the great things that are going on at the corner of
Patton at Ridge Streets where the House of Hope is
extending Christ's love to our neighbors in need!

The Work Continues.....
Hughes & Adkins and our sub contractors are now hard
at work bringing all the building up to code
requirements. It is a tedious and time consuming
process, not to mention expensive. Though Hughes &
Adkins is doing the work at cost, because of the
enormity of the project the costs are staggering.
Your financial assistance is so important. The
fire/safety installation requirements as well as the
shower installs and modifications of the bathrooms
necessitate pouring concrete, new flooring, new
ceiling tiles and on and on the work goes.
As you may know, nothing stands alone. One project
gives birth to yet another one. Additionally, bedrooms
have been designated and are being put in place, and
still to be done is our storage area and privacy
fencing.
Please allow me to mention this to you. We are on a 90day deadline of which 50% of that time has expired. We
are spending a good portion of our operating funds to
get the project underway. Your financial assistance is
so appreciated. I can't tell you enough how grateful
we all are for your faithfulness to both pray for us
and continue your monthly support. Everyone doing
something is the key. Thank you and God bless you.
