Message From The Director

The Director's Article of Appreciation

Another year has passed us by and it been a great year at the House of Hope! Many people have been blessed while in the process of moving forward with their lives. In 2011 as of this writing, we have had 155 guests to be able to stay with us this year at a time in their lives when they had nowhere else to go. Many of these guests made positive progress and were successful in moving forward by getting a job and a place to stay after their time here at the HoH. To God be the glory!!!!

As the director of the House of Hope I want to thank each person that gave of their selves, through their prayers, their time, and their donations of supplies, and of their money to support and make the House of Hope a place that they can be proud of. We could not exist if not for your love that you show to us by your continue support!!

As we are moving into even colder months ahead of us we will still need your continued support to make the HoH a safe and warm place to come to when someone has no place to go.

To the many churches, clubs, schools and support groups and agencies please know we love you for all you do to help make the House of Hope a place where our guests, past, present, and future can know that someone cares for them when they need help!!!

I would like to share with you a testimony of one of our latest guest : The House of Hope has been such a blessing to me since I got here. The staff has treated me with the utmost respect and showed me so much kindness. They understand that we are not bad people just that we are down on our luck at the moment. May God continue to bless the House of Hope.----Mary

Blessed Hope Church provided our Christmas Dinner this past year. We had a great time! They are such a blessing to the House of Hope. We are looking forward to 2012 and believing that God will continue to show up at the House of Hope through your love and support!!! I pray that you will be greatly blessed in this new year!!!

Happy New Year to you and all that you love,

God Bless,
-Stephen Anderson, Director

HOH Vice President's Message

"Happy New Year!"!

At the House of Hope December Board meeting, new board members as well as officers were elected. The new Board members include: Mr. Tom Gay; Ms. Sandra Strange; and Ms. Barbara Hyler. The new officer's include: Mr. Jerry Fischer, President; Mr. Ronnie Pannell, Vice President; Mr. John Guarino, Treasurer; and Ms. Kim Hensley, Secretary. I would like to thank Dr. Cam McIntyre for his dedicated service and leadership to the House of Hope over the past year as President. As we enter the New Year, the House of Hope's Board of Directors and staff look forward to continuing to serve those in need of emergency shelter in our community, realizing that this would not be possible without the continued generous support of our community. We will continue to strive not only to provide temporary shelter to our guests, but to assist in providing the necessary tools and support to
overcome their homelessness.

Ronnie Pannell
Vice President

Anyone who needs a tax receipt for contributions sent directly to American National Bank for the House of Hope’s account should send a copy of the paid check to
the attention of Bob Wiles, Treasurer, Post Office Box 1197, Danville, VA 24543.

This documentation is required in order for the House of Hope to send the needed receipt that is required by IRS for charitable gifts of $250 or more.

Please know that we are deeply grateful not only for the hundreds of donors who have lent their support in 2009, but also for the pledge commitments that have already been received for 2010.
