Many Have Already Benefitted
Sarah, an 18 year old, had no place to go. She came to House of Hope and was able to reunite with her foster parents the next day.
Jesse is currently separated from his children and hopes to reunite with them once he?s able to get back on his feet.
Robert, a professional painter, stays at the shelter and offers his skills as a ?thank you.? William, a computer literate, is currently staying at the shelter and is willing to work on the computer during his stay there.
These individuals and others would like to send out their thanks to the people of Danville for their concerns, donations and prayers. They are very grateful to be able to sleep in a warm bed, have good food, and a place to shower and wash their clothing.
February 19th, 7:00PM
The North Theatre: The public is cordially invited to attend this informative meeting. Anyone who's interested in becoming involved in brainstorming ideas to further the development of the shelter, help with donations and/or serve in any other capacity, is asked to attend this meeting.
March 7th, 11:30AM
Danville's Outback Steakhouse: Jimmy Russell, Proprietor, has been generous enough to offer a luncheon for 200 people at $25 per ticket. Tickets will be available for purchase February, 16th at Danville's Outback. Mr. Russell has assured us that the meal will be more than worth the price of the ticket. All proceeds will go to the House of Hope.
A Special Thanks
Because of the following wonderful people, The House of Hope's doors remain open.
We'd like to give a special thanks to Niles and Pat Daly for their tremendous efforts in the reopening of this shelter.
* Brown Electrical - Mr. Brown donated his labor as well as materials for door bells and emergency buzzers, helping keep the shelter secure. He has also volunteered to wire our stove for us.
* Mr. Bob Newnam donated a big screen television for recreational use at the shelter.
* Newcomb Carpets donated a new washer and dryer for those staying at the shelter to always have clean clothes.
* Hope Builders from Pittsylvania Baptist Association Ministry will be donating their time and materials replacing doors.

Welcome
It's time to wake up. You manage to roll yourself out of that comfortable, warm bed and head to the bathroom. After a relaxing shower, you head back to your bedroom to put on your freshly washed wardrobe. You race down the steps and grab a quick breakfast before running out the door for work.
During our busy lives filled with payments, appointments and work schedules, we don't take time to stop and fully comprehend the blessings that have been bestowed upon us. Unfortunately, there are those in need of the basics that we often take for granted.
House of Hope was originally established by Reverend Larry Hill 15 years ago. After his passing, his wife, Cindy Hill, served as director of the shelter until its unfortunate closing last year.
Chair of the Homeless Ministry Collation, Reverend Donnie Anderson, RiverOak Church of God's new Senior Pastor, prayed for the shelter. After six weeks and many meetings, Randy Johnson of God's Pit Crew led him to two local businessmen who offered up a generous gift (to be matched) in order to help kick-start the reopening of the House of Hope.
Under the guidance of Stephen Anderson, new director, the shelter is up and running.
Message From The Director
On a recent Tuesday night we had 7 men staying in the shelter and have had a total of 11 guests in the shelter. Danville has a lot to be proud of when it comes to taking care of the homeless! This is straight from God's Word. God bless Danville and all the homeless for this night there are at least 7 men that feel very blessed to be in a safe and warm place. We had a Bible study Tuesday night. The Rev. John Clark came out to share the Word of God.
What a great time we had! The men in the shelter said they enjoyed the study and would love to have Rev. Clark come back soon. As the director of the House of Hope, I feel I am the most blessed of all. To be able to serve these men and women and to watch great things unfold from the town of Danville is such a blessing to me.
