Message From The Director
Good day to you from the House of Hope. We bid you many blessings on this fine day! We have been blessed to have a guest named James staying with us. He is a professional painter and we have had some volunteers from Second Baptist Church in Richmond to come out and help us with painting in our new restrooms, shower rooms, and laundry room.
They have been such a great blessing and James has done an outstanding job on supervising their efforts. The rooms are coming together and we are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel of our renovation project! We are most appreciative to God's Pit Crew for providing us their trailer with showers and a washer and dryer for the past two months while our building is being made ready. We feel blessed to have such strong support from our community. People helping people: what a joy to be here and to watch all that is going on. There have been many fundraisers and donations that have come our way recently and we would like to recognize a few supporters of the House of Hope:
New Life Community Church
Faith Memorial Baptist Church-Vacation Bible School
Kentuck Baptist Church-Vacation Bible School
Liberty Baptist Church- Vacation Bible School
Vance Street Missionary Baptist Church
Triangle Cycles
Thanks to all of you for your extra efforts and all our other supporters as well. We know that it will take all that we as a community can give to carry on the work that is happening at our new location.
At this time we have 11 guests staying at HOH. Two women and nine men are safe and sound while looking for work each day and participating in programs to help move their lives forward.
God bless Danville and surrounding areas for all that you do to help our less fortunate citizens to have a hand up while looking for ways to improve their future!

Needs Volunteer Support
One of the vital needs that the House of Hope meets for its guests each evening is the provision of a hot meal. Although we are not able to prepare and cook food in our facility at this time, because of a partnership with Danville Regional Medical Center that allows us to pick up and serve the excess of their evening meal, our guests are well fed every evening. But, we need volunteers to assist us in keeping this service flowing smoothly!
We are calling for churches, civic groups, and any other interested individuals to sign up for a week of volunteering (Monday-Friday) at the evening meal. As few as two people per night are needed to drive to the hospital and pick up the pans of food, deliver them to the HOH, assist with serving and then clean up. The total time commitment for an evening of volunteering is approximately 90 minutes. Would you be interested in serving our neighbors in need in this way? If so, please contact me as soon as possible at 434.793.8331 or s.cook@fbcdanville.com. Our hope is to have a schedule in place and volunteers at work before the end of the month!

The Work Continues.....

Hughes & Adkins and our sub contractors are now hard at work bringing all the building up to code requirements. It is a tedious and time consuming process, not to mention expensive. Though Hughes & Adkins is doing the work at cost, because of the enormity of the project the costs are staggering.
Your financial assistance is so important. The fire/safety installation requirements as well as the shower installs and modifications of the bathrooms necessitate pouring concrete, new flooring, new ceiling tiles and on and on the work goes.
As you may know, nothing stands alone. One project gives birth to yet another one. Additionally, bedrooms have been designated and are being put in place, and still to be done is our storage area and privacy fencing.
Please allow me to mention this to you. We are on a 90 day deadline of which 50% of that time has expired. We are spending a good portion of our operating funds to get the project underway. Your financial assistance is so appreciated. I can?t tell you enough how grateful we all are for your faithfulness to both pray for us and continue your monthly support. Everyone doing something is the key. Thank you and God bless you.
