Message From The Director

INTERESTING STORIES FROM YOUR HOUSE OF HOPE...

A gentleman came to the shelter on April 4, just for one night. He was headed back home the next day by bus. His last name was Bonney. I asked him if, by chance he was related to William H. Bonney (Billy the Kid). He informed me that his great grandfather's nephew was none other than Billy the Kid. I thought that was interesting.

We had a Mr. Hardy stay with us for several weeks. His story was that he had just gotten out of the hospital and when he had returned to the hotel in which he had been staying, he was informed that his checks from the Veterans Administration had been sent back while he was in the hospital, so he had no place to go. When he arrived at the shelter, I made a few phone calls to the Va. Dept. of Veterans Services and now his checks are going to directly to his bank. He is now living on his own once again. Glory to God!

A Mr. Stamps (a.k.a ?Herc,? short for Hercules) came to the shelter. His story was that his car had broken down while he was passing through Danville. He had no place to go. He stayed with us here at the shelter for two days while his car was being repaired. He wants to let everyone in Danville know that he appreciated a place to stay and the food and kindness that he received while he was here, The other gentlemen mentioned previously would also like to thank Danville for their kindness and love that was shown through the House of Hope. All the good done here is made possible only by your prayers and gifts. At the present time, we have nine men at the shelter. That number may change at any given moment. In less than 3 months, we have had a total of 45 guests go through the House of Hope.

We are making a big difference in a lot of lives. As we bless these people in their time of need, God is blessing the House of Hope-Glory to God!!!

I am so excited to be a part of this great ministry. We are having Bible study every Tuesday night and church here at the shelter every Sunday morning. As we continue to serve Christ and obey "His Word", we will continue to see many blessings come our way.

On behalf of all of the guests that are currently here at the House of Hope, and the many that have come and gone, we would like to extend many thanks. Because of God touching your hearts, we have been able to offer a nice safe place for the guests, food to eat, clothes to wear and the ability to keep the shelter a clean place for our guests. Thank you all for you monetary gifts and most of all, thank you for your continued prayers for the House of Hope. God bless the citizens of Danville and the surrounding areas for all your faithful support. We love and appreciate all that you do!
